The first Baptist work in India was started in 1793 by William Carey and friends of the Baptist Mission Society, when they came to Kolkata, India. This was followed by many other Baptist missionaries from North America and Europe and even from Australia and New Zealand. Today most states in India have Baptist believers and churches.

Rev. Prince Aaron Golden, was brought up in Goa since the age of one and the Lord called him into full time Ministry while he was working in Goa, after his Graduation in Science, B.Sc [Chemistry] through Mumbai University in the year 1985, through a very tragic car accident where he was on bed for 18 months. He responded to God’s call in his life and left his well paid job to join Ministry. He joined Union Biblical Seminary [U.B.S], in Pune in the year 1987 to do his post graduation studies in Bachelor of Divinity [B.D] through Serampore University.  He graduated in the year 1990 and started working for a few months in Aguada Prison and Goa Medical College Hospital in Goa.

The first call came to him from the Southern Baptist Mission in Mumbai to come and join them as a Church Planter and Pastor. He accepted God’s invitation and joined the Baptists in August 1990 in Mumbai, it was called the “CONVENTION OF BAPTIST CHURCHES IN MAHARASHTRA” and “NATIONAL INDIAN MINISTRIES”, today it is called  “MAHARASHTRA BAPTIST SOCIETY”.

During his 11 years of Ministry he was instrumental in starting five different Churches in Mumbai. The Vasai Baptist Church, Nallasopara Baptist Church, Mira Road Baptist Church, Virar Baptist Church and Naigaon Baptist Churches. He Pastored the Vasai Baptist Church till he left for Goa in 2001.

 

 

Vasai Baptist Church

He was the General Secretary of the Convention of Baptist Churches in Maharashtra for 5 years.
He was the Secretary of the Baptist Youth Fellowship of India for 3 years.
He was the Board Member of the All India Baptist Federation.

 

They were affiliated to the Southern Baptist in the U.S, Asia Baptist Federation and the Baptist World Alliance.

Rev. Prince Aaron Golden was Ordained as a Baptist Pastor in Khandala, Maharashtra in the year 1992. Several Southern Baptist Pastors and Leaders along with Indian Pastors and Leaders were present on that occasion.
